For decades, Indiana strictly regulated what liquor stores could and could not sell to prevent them from becoming full-service convenience stores. Because of this bizarre bureaucratic line-drawing, liquor stores could sell you room-temperature soda and water, but chilling it was a violation of the state's alcoholic beverage code.
